Here is one of our bluebonnet pictures from today. Let me tell you that this is the ONLY one (out of 300+ taken today) of Jacob smiling. That should tell you how the day is going ;)
And for anyone in the Houston area looking for a good bluebonnet field, I found it! Take Hwy 105 towards Montgomery. Take a right onto Lonestar Parkway and on your right a little ways down is a great field. It's about to be developed so I would go soon and it might not be there next year! There is a commercial for sale sign by the road right in front of this field so you can look for that as your landmark. There were lots of bees. I did not see any snakes but I wouldn't count them out. And yes, there are fire ants as my poor little girl found out :( It's only been two weeks since she was last attacked. The poor thing may wear knee high socks for the rest of her life after today! But it is a gorgeous field of them and there are some paths and hills. You can even walk down to a point where you feel like you're in a bowl of bluebonnets and can't even see the road. At a better time of day and with more cooperative kids I think there could be some great shots!

and by the way, this was taken at Creekside Park, not in Montgomery (our first stop of the day) |
