What a beautiful day! We had wonderful weather and I even noticed the sun is staying up a little longer. This morning we took a family bike ride around the neighborhood. (My legs are killing me as I type this! ) Then Taylor helped me clean out our front flower beds for a couple hours. After lunch we played outside some more and then as I was making dinner Eric took the kids out to play again. So glad that we got to take advantage of this gorgeous day! Here are the kids playing with sidewalk chalk and chasing each other.

I found a couple of great buys today that I thought I'd share with you. I checked out a little antique shop near me and stumbled upon a really cute little birdcage and an old wine jug. Really good prices too, especially after I compared them to my Pottery Barn catalog!!
My version = $10, Pottery Barn version = $99 minimum! |

I absolutely love Spring. To be fair, I think that I love each season as it's nearing and then I'm ready for it to be done with and move on to the next after a couple of months. But I'm sure God knew that's how we'd feel and perhaps that is why He gave us the seasons and changes to enjoy. Or maybe there's really some greater reason far beyond amusing us and that's fine by me, too. I'm just thankful to get to enjoy it while I'm here :)
So, as I sat on my front steps this afternoon, enjoying the 70 degree weather in late February, I was surveying what the freezing weather had done to the plants in our front flower beds. It's not pretty. It needs a lot of attention. So, did I grab my gardening gloves, pruning shears and get to work? No, don't be silly...I grabbed my camera and took some pictures of the new buds coming in on our azalea and loropetalum plants! (After all, I'm sure I know a little 4 year old who would love to help out once she gets up from her nap. I should wait for her.)

So, Raggedy Ann (from yesterday's post) was a late night, must get this done, I really want to go to bed sort of post. I actually was in bed and about to turn off my lamp when I realized that I had not done my picture taking duties for the day. My wonderfully supportive husband actually pushed me out of bed to find something to take pictures of (he would not let himself be the subject!) I love that he knows me well enough to know that if I skip even one day, I will probably start rolling downhill.
My daughter just received this doll for Christmas and already loves her! I am happy to have a picture of her to save for Taylor one day.
Now, on to today's post! I am getting this done early...from now on...right?!? Well, we've already been to a birthday party this morning so I have material and I'm ready to share it. I have been using some textures from The Coffee Shop blog that I love. It's her "Baking with Mom" texture set. Try it out if you get a chance. I love the creamy colors she provides and sometimes it's hard to pick just what to use. Even if you don't use textures, check her blog out anyway!
So, here is Ben's birthday at Chuck E Cheese's...
