I had so many things to take pictures of today. I even went to find my camera at one point because I wanted to show you the sod cutter that I rented from Home Depot. I found my camera...on the floor...with the lens all gunky as if someone had licked it or drooled on it. I wonder who that could've been??? I guess I won't leave the camera sitting on the couch, with the kids inside, while I'm in the backyard hooking up the trailer anymore! Lesson learned :)

So, I could have taken my phone out to take pictures with, but frankly I was so busy working and am so tired tonight that it's just not going to happen. And I'm okay with that because I'll get to show you the "after" shots I promised very soon!

Here's your mental picture for the day: The rundown of my day included hooking up the trailer, going to HD to rent the sod cutter, taking it home and cutting out the flower beds I wanted, cleaning the sod cutter, returning it to HD (in 4 hours!), driving to the plant nursery and picking out 16 plants and 2 yards of mulch, driving home and unloading said plants, shoveling out the rest of the grass that the sod cutter couldn't reach...reaching my end point and calling it a day! Oh yeah...and taking care of those cute little kiddos who are loving spending time "helping" Mommy outside :)

It's April 27th and we've opened the pool! The water was still a little cool for my taste but the kids had tons of fun splashing around. (and then I find out it's supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow! haha!)

can you tell how much Jacob is wanting to be in this picture? he just wants to read his ladybug book!

I absolutely love Tyler roses! I was introduced to these in college and have since loved looking for little stands on the side of the road selling them in the springtime. Thank you Jess for bringing these back for me from your trip!! Aren't these so pretty?!?

I tried to upload a video for you but apparently I have some things to learn about that first. So, here's the picture I took on my phone before the cute little dance Taylor's ballet class did for us.

This is the "before". Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be able to show you the "after".

I've been busy trying to finish up all my little projects around here. Today I finished Jacob's chair (finally!) and moved his & Taylor's into the house. I also finished the corkboard project I started...um... oh say...maybe a year ago?!? Happy Birthday Mom!! haha!

I've also been busy laying grass, planting flowers, keeping house, etc. I still have to finish painting the learning tower and then all my little wood projects in the garage can come inside. And I'm sure I'll come up with a new one after that!  :)

Jacob's is the red wood stained one and Taylor's is the white one. The red stain was really easy btw.

Trying out his new chair!

And here's one of the cork boards!! That's burlap fabric covering the cork.

We have a couple of funny little hummingbirds that have taken a liking to our flowers and bird feeder. I'm really surprised by how often we see them. Today I thought I would try to snap one so I stood by the window by the feeder and only had to wait about 30 seconds before they showed up. Then after they were done drinking they flew around by the window a bit to show off! I think they must love to try to stump photographers! I did think to start out with my shutter speed as high as I could go with the available light. Here's the best one from the bunch...

Catching up! Here are some florals straight from the backyard. I love spring and love seeing all of these beautiful flowers right outside my back door! The hydrangea are blooming and I'm anxious to see what color they turn. I bought the blue ones but I've heard that your soil's ph ultimately determines the color. So far they've started off green, turned slightly pink, onto purple and I think I see a little blue coming through in one of them. Guess I'll just have to wait and see!

This is getting seriously out of control over here. Jacob is obsessed with anything that sports this logo...

Easter Egg Hunt at WOCC this morning! And I want to give credit to my hubby, Eric, for taking some of these pictures today...great job!

Jacob was being efficient, setting his basket down and bring the eggs two at time!

trying to reach the high up ones...I think he moved into the wrong age group area here!

My sweet girl talked me into making pink cupcakes today. It was a good thing I had strawberry cake mix on hand! She had lots of fun decorating with sprinkles when they were done :)

This is how I started my day... (I won't even go into the "fence incident" I had with the trailer later in the day. I'll just say that both the fence and trailer are going to be okay :) )
Then I delivered and setup this...

He looks like a happy boy!

Yes, my friends, it is done. It is out of my garage :) and assembled for this cute little boy to enjoy! I have to say I was most happy when we put the box springs into the frame...and it fit!!! I was a little worried about that. I knew my measurements were correct and everything appeared to be adding up but all of the work would have been for nothing if it wouldn't function as a bed ;)

This was a fun project for me and I love just knowing that I can do stuff like this. If you are looking for a building-type project check out www.ana-white.com for her plans and ideas. She's got tons of great stuff there!

Hopefully the next pictures will be of this assembled. I did take these pictures on day 103 but just finished the poly coat at 12:30 am so I am just now posting them. So, what do you think of the color? This picture is before the distressing and poly. Those pics will be tomorrow. I don't think I'm even making sense anymore. Goodnight!!!!

I can't wait to show you what I've been up to today...but not until it's complete! I'll give you a hint...I've been sanding and painting with my friend, Jessica, all.day.long.

We did have to take some breaks from working on our project today to take care of our kiddos ;) Here are the girls:

The boys:
The first bloom on our new rose bush!
I have a feeling that one day we will all get a good laugh out of this picture. Our two boys, driving the pink Barbie car...off-roading :)

I love Jaxon's expression here. "What?!? I can be tough and drive a pink car!"

We have a hole that our dog, Max, dug quite a while ago and has not been filled in yet. It rained this morning. I let Jacob play outside shortly after the rain cleared up. Boys will find the one mud puddle in all of 2 acres that they can play in. He got a bath with the water hose soon after I gathered my evidence :)

Day 100!! Taken with the iphone and edited with Photoshop express for the iphone.  This was taken in the cry room at church tonight. I spent a lot of time in there today with Jacob. He's "learning" to sit in his seat and be good. Tonight this included handing me every crayon out of the box, one at a time, and then putting them all back in again. Whatever works - at least it's a quiet activity!!

Uuuggghhh! This is getting bad. I think I need something...either encouragement or threats...not sure which would work better, but I need to get with the whole picture taking thing.

This is one of the roses from our rose bush. We get so many blooms from this one bush that I ordered two more to start this year. If you're looking for good roses, check out the Antique Rose Emporium in Brenham :)
